Sadly Kalista, one of our Language Assistants, had to go back home in the States. She had an operation in her ankle after a fall and the recovery process is going to be long. It is such a pity but the important thing now is that she gets better.
When learning a foreign language listening is usually one of the most difficult skills. Why? Well, there are many reasons for that:
Kalista has prepared a beautiful and informative bulletin board about her home state: Arkansas, the Natural State.
Hoy hemos celebrado una sesión informativa entre el alumnado de 4º ESO interesado en esta beca que ofrece la fundación a 600 alumnos españoles para cursar 1º Bachillerato en EEUU o Canadá.
This year many teachers at our school are making use of a very useful tool provided by Google. It is Goggle Classroom and teachers and students can be in touch to make learning possible even outside the classroom.
Every September 26th we celebrate the European Day of Languages with different activities in many school groups. For example, this year:
Hi there! My name is Leah Shedrow and I am so excited to be a new language assistant in Corrales! I am from Atlanta, Georgia in the U.S. and just graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Journalism, focusing on film and media studies! I love film and creating stories and different worlds. I also minored in Spanish and studied abroad in Valencia two years ago, which made me realize my passion for the Spanish language and my infinite love for Spain! The experience in Valencia inspired me to return to Spain to explore my love of teaching and fulfill my dream of being immersed in Spanish life once again! I also developed a desire to travel and learn as many languages as possible, and have taught myself Italian and some Hebrew since that experience.
Hello!
My name is Kalista and I am from the United States. I grew up in
Jonesboro, Arkansas. Both sides of my family are from the U.S. and
many of them also live in Arkansas. I have an older sister, a younger
brother, and a dog (boxer-mix) named Emma. Jonesboro is a fairly
small town and is home to Arkansas State University. I graduated from
Arkansas State University in May of 2018 with degrees in
Communication Studies and World Languages and Cultures for Spanish. I
fell in love with Spanish and learning about different cultures. My
university had students from all over the world, so I was able to
learn a little bit about their cultures while still in the U.S.

Although we are about to finish this school year, we have come up with something new. This time we are about to start a new project: a penpal with a school in Świecie (Poland). When we write in English we obviously think it is correct because we did our best. However, this is not always the case... Today we have an on-line service where we can send our texts and it will be corrected automatically in a short time.
