PEOPLE WE LOOK UP TO

We all have idols we look up to. They can be celebrities or just ordinary people around us (family members, friends, etc.) They are role models for us, they inspire us, we want to be like them, we love their achievements...

It is impossible to have a comprehensive list of the most influential people worldwide because we cannot always agree.

We tend to think that what we do is the norm and the rest is strange. This blog wants to show you that there are MANY different ways to do and see things around the world.

INTERCAMBIO CON ALEMANIA

Ya estamos preparando nuestra 4ª Edición del Intercambio Escolar con Gerabronn (Alemania). La semana pasada nos reunimos con las familias interesadas y hoy se ha procedido a la asignación de las 15 plazas que ofrecemos. Por tanto, ya tenemos a los 15 afortunados de 1º Bachillerato así como una lista de espera en caso de renuncias.

El Intercambio se realizará entre el 15 y el 22 de marzo de 2018 y el grupo alemán nos visitará a mediados de mayo.  Ahora mismo, nos urge comprar los billetes lo antes posible para conseguir mejores precios.

Aquí dejamos un video turístico con los lugares más interesantes de este país (algunos de los cuales visitaremos durante nuestra estancia).

TALK TO JISELLE

For the second year we offer our students an English Speaking Club every Tuesday at break time (11:30-12:00). Jiselle will be in a classroom to talk to them about different topics like music, films, traveling, American festivals and traditions, TV shows, food, etc. Also students can propose different topics they want to talk about.

We think this activity is more suitable for ESO Year 3 and 4 and Bachillerato students but anybody is welcome to participate.

We would like to thank Jiselle because this is extra time she is at school apart from her official schedule.

CURSO DE INMERSION LINGUISTICA OTOÑO 2017 – 2º ESO

Acabado el plazo de entrega de solicitudes, se han recibido 43 y cada centro solo puede proponer a 25 alumnos/as como máximo. Por tanto, se ha seleccionado al alumnado con mejores notas en inglés en 1º ESO. Posteriormente, en los casos de empate de nota se ha procedido a ordenar alfabéticamente a los interesados y realizar la asignación de plaza según el número de desempate establecido por la Junta de Andalucía para este año (0,9639).

El listado de seleccionados y suplentes está expuesto en la cristalera del IES para su consulta.

Una vez formado el grupo, procedemos a solicitar  nuestra participación y en caso de ser seleccionados (solo 6 centros serán elegidos en Andalucía), contactaremos con las familias para preparar la actividad (fechas asignadas, medio de transporte, etc.)

HERE IS JISELLE

Today was Jiselle's first day at our school. We are very glad she is with us this school year and we hope she enjoys this experience. Here is a picture of Jiselle with her welcome poster.

In the following days she will be presenting herself to the different groups she is going to work with. We also asked her to display a bulletin board about California.

On Thursday is the Orientation Meeting for all language assistants in Huelva.
