SUMMER HOLIDAYS

After some months of school Summer holidays are here!!

We hope everybody is happy with the results they got. It has been an intense year full of activities, projects, experiences, good and bad moments... Life in short.

Now we have our deserved holidays and we will be back in September with more information, curiosities, links, etc.

Here is our last Torre de bpabpel! Alex prepared it before he left. It is about the typical holidays in the UK (destinations, activities, resorts, etc.)

WIR FAHREN NACH DEUTSCHLAND!

Yes, we travel to Germany!! From the 21st until the 30th of June a group of 20 Bachillerato Year 1 students and two teachers will be in Waden-Wüttemberg visiting our German friends. Unfortunately there were some heavy floods in the region a couple of weeks ago with some fatal casualties.  This time we will visit Stuttgart, Nürenberg, Rothenburg ab der Tauber, Tübingen, Dachau, etc. We hope we have a good time!

With this activity we finish the second part of the School Exchange we started last year with Gerabronn Gymnasium.... And we are already looking forward to preparing the 3rd edition!!

PRUEBA INGLES SELECTIVIDAD 2016

Here are the two options offered this morning to the students who are taking their university entrance exams.

ENCUESTAS FAMILIAS 1º ESO BILINGUE

Ya tenemos los resultados de la encuesta anual que solemos hacer a las familias del alumnado que comienza la Modalidad Bilingüe en 1º de ESO. Este año hemos tenido 3 grupos de 1º ESO y la encuesta ha sido contestada por 57 familias y queremos agradecer la colaboración a todos los participantes.
Si hay que extraer algunas conclusiones, podemos destacar:
- En general, la opinión es muy positiva hacia el bilingüismo, los auxiliares de conversación, el aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras, etc.
- Todos desean seguir en la modalidad bilingüe
- Haber tenido cuatro asignaturas bilingües no ha supuesto un problema y es valorado positivamente (recordamos que en los cursos bajos es más fácil porque hay muchas asignaturas comunes)
- Hay una queja generalizada de poca información sobre el bilingüismo pero curiosamente también admiten que nadie o casi nadie visita el blog del IES donde hablamos sobre todo lo relacionado con el bilingüismo.

Bueno, tomamos nota y seguiremos trabajando para mejorar cada curso.

SELECTIVIDAD 2016

Es nuestro primer año con alumnos de 2º Bachillerato haciendo las Pruebas de Acceso a la Universidad (conocidas popularmente como Selectividad). El primer día tendrán las tres materias comunes: Lengua española, Filosofía o Historia e Inglés. Los dos días siguientes tendrán pruebas de materias de cada opción de Bachillerato.

Realmente más del 95% de quienes se presentan a las pruebas las pasan. El problema es conseguir una nota alta para determinados grados universitarios. Para ello tienen la opción de presentarse a asignaturas específicas afines a sus futuros estudios.

Les deseamos mucha suerte, mucha calma y que puedan demostrar todo lo que saben. 

ONLINE LIVES

Everyday we post comments, pictures, information about ourselves on many different social networks. We could say that we are giving TOO MUCH information to complete strangers all the time.

OLD SCHOOLS vs NEW SCHOOLS

We have asked some ESO Year 2 students to think critically what they don't like about school nowadays. Obviously, there have been very interesting comments and insights and after that we told them to do a project.

The aim was for them to think of a modern, different school according to their likes, opinions, comments, etc.

In this picture we can see the results: more than 20 proposals for new schools with very good ideas.
We hope some of our politicians listen to some of their ideas!!

BOOKTUBER

We all know about Youtube and famous Youtubers (people who upload videos with millions of followers). But did you know about "Booktube"??

The idea is the same: someone who uploads videos but in this case about books, reading, etc. Curiously enough, the most famous Booktuber in Spain is from Ayamonte.

SO LONG!

Last night we said good-bye to our first Bachillerato promotion, also our first Bilingual one. It is always hard to do it but life goes on for these promising students and they will take new roads that will lead them to new destinations.

We wish them all the best in this new period of their lives and we hope they keep a good memory of the years they stayed with us. We certainly do!!
