"I'm Katie and I am from New Zealand. I am in Spain for 2 months learning Spanish. I have previously been learning Spanish for one year in my high school (Epsom Girls Grammar- there are 2,200 girls at my school).
Right now its summer holidays for all of my friends and family. In New Zealand we have Christmas and New Years in summer, going to the beach etc, It is very different to here. New Zealand only has 4 million people all together, school is also very different. I have a school uniform and i choose 4 of my subjects each year (excluding English, Maths, Science etc). The school schedule is also quite different. I start school at 8:30 then have a class meeting till 9, then i have 2 classes then a 20min break, one more class then lunch at school. After lunch we have 2 more classes then we go home. New Zealand and Spain have very different eating times, I would usually have dinner around 7:30, but here it is a lot later. There are also many typical dishes here, but in New Zealand we don't have a specific dish but the most common is steak and vegetables. Normally i don't get to eat all meals with my family in NZ because we are busy at different times. I hope to one day be fluent in Spanish, so i have a lot of work to do!"
