Today it is very easy to find the most commonly used words in any language by using modern technology. They analyze any corpus of written (newspapers, blogs, magazines,...) or spoken language (interviews, podcasts...) to find what is most repeated.Here are the 3,000 most common words in the English language. This study has been carried out by Oxford and the results can be checked HERE.
Alternatively Youtube is full of videos claiming to offer again the most common English words, verbs, phrases, etc.
